CIP Safety
The Anybus CompactCom 40 EtherNet/IP IIoT Secure supports the CIP safety profile. This profile makes it possible for a user to send data on a black channel interface, i.e. a safe channel over EtherNet/IP using an add-on safety module, e.g. the IXXAT Safe T100. For an application to support CIP safety, the Functional Safety Object (E8h, host application object) has to be implemented. The Anybus CompactCom serial channel is used for the functional safety communication. When this channel is used for the host application, a second separate serial channel is implemented for the functional safety communication.
